The Jungclas Family Coat Of Arms

Map of Treysa, Hesse, Germany

The Jungclas Family Coat Of
Arms
or Wappen has deep roots in Germany
specifically from the area in and around the village
of Treysa, Germany. Treysa is located in the heart
of Germany and is part of the Schwalm Region.
Treysa is now part of a larger city area which is
today called and known as Schwalmsdadt,
Germany
.

The origins of this Wappen or Coat of Arms can be found at two locations. One is the Hessen Archives in Marburg, Germany where a book contains the Wappens or Coats of Arms for the region. It can also be found on the tombstone for Ludwig Jungclas (Born on 14 May 1643, Died on 3 April 1685) which is still in existance today and the tombstone is located in the Evanegical or Lutheran Church in Treysa, Germany. Below are some photographs of the Wappen or Coat of Arms for Ludwig Jungclas as well as a full view of Ludwig Jungclas' Gravestone.

The tombstone was originally located at the Tortenkirche
(Death Church) in Treysa but it was eventually moved to the
present Evangelical Lutheran Church when it was renovated and
since the Tortenkirche had been destroyed by a fire many years
ago. There are portions or ruins of the Tortenkirche which still
remain and serve as an historical landmark and monument
in Treysa.

There are two renderings above at the top of this page for the
Jungclas Wappen or Caot of Arms. The one which is on the left
was drawn and interpreted for Hartmut Jungclas and The
Jungclas Family Bakery approximately 23 years ago. It has
been used by the family since then especially on the ocassion of
the Jungclas Family Bakery's 400th anniversary in June of
1993. The drawing on the right is taken from the book found in
the Marburg Archives which document this Wappen.

Today, The Jungclas Family Coat Of Arms is not only symbolic
of the Family Bakery but also of a Family united and proudly celebrating, as they did in
June of 1993, a vast and very enriching heritage though thousands of miles or kilometers
apart! The Jungclas Family Coat of Arms is still in use today by the Jungclas Family
Bakery.
